Bob Weeks
Bob is the sole founder and leader of Ground Thunder. As a true Charlotte native, he has worked in the concrete business since 1985. He is still active in the company’s field operations, applying his leadership, energy, and visionary spirit to Ground Thunder’s purpose on a daily basis. His philosophy related to his employees is based around the idea of family values and staying local so his team can return home each day to their families.
In addition to his commitment to the company, Bob is an avid marathon runner. To date, he has completed over 300 marathons, including the World Marathon Challenge–where he ran 7 marathons in 7 consecutive days on all 7 continents. In his free time, Bob volunteers in the community with causes such as Hope Haven of Charlotte and the Charlotte Men’s Shelter. Bob and his family reside in Harrisburg, NC.
Efren Padilla
General Superintendent
Efren is one of our senior field leaders and has over 25 years experience in concrete construction. He spent 19 years with Serreta Construction, specializing in tilt work concrete. Efren manages multiple projects and team members for GT and is a member of our leadership team. In his time away from work he enjoys spending family time with his 3 kids and wife, Stephania.
Efren Hernandez
Superintendent
Efren, known as “Effy” by the team here at Ground Thunder manages our finishing and carpentry team. He has 20 plus years in the business and is a key asset in all of our projects at any given time. Effy has 2 brothers, Ricardo and Lalo, that are also key employees to our finishing team. In Effy’s free time he enjoys getting together with friends and competing soccer matches.
Thomas Moore
Operations Manager
Tom joined the GT team in 2020 and brings over 20 years experience in commercial and residential concrete work. He is our “do it all” guy, from concrete work, operating equipment, driving roll off and dump trucks, to managing jobs in the field. Tom plays a vital role in our day-to-day operations and helps our company stay on track. He has 2 sons that work for GT as well, Jacob and Adam. In his free time, Tom enjoys hunting, golfing, and riding motorcycles.
Doug Postel
Operations Manager Toilets & Pest Control
With over 28 years experience in the portable toilet business, Doug brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Ground Thunder Toilets. Prior to Porta-Jon being sold, he spent 26 years as their Operations Manager. Doug is responsible for our training, hiring, scheduling, and account management. In his spare time he enjoys fishing and vintage cars, especially his 65′ Mustang
Jacob Moore
Foreman
Jacob is a young hard working concrete finisher who joined the team in 2020. He comes with 5 years of concrete experience and has tons of knowledge for being so young. He is a major part of our concrete finishing team and learns more and more each day. One of his long-term goals is to be the Lead Superintendent over all of the finishing crews. In his free time, besides enjoying working, he likes to hunt, fish, and spend time with his dog Kane.
